Mop Up Week
The goal of this lesson is to ensure that the three Practices are setting in nicely, and catch up on anything you didn’t get around to. If you wish, you may extend this stage to two or three weeks, to really embed the habits - but don’t get stuck here. The Practices are lifelong, by which we mean, life will constantly be interrupting them: if you’ve made a good start, you’re ready to continue.
Read
- Continue reading the three chapters & reflecting on them
Do
- CONTINUE YOUR WALKING PRACTICE
- CONTINUE YOUR READING PRACTICE
- CONTINUE YOUR DISCONNECTION PRACTICE
- Fill in your calendar with practice goals for the next month
- If you are struggling to complete a Practice, set a new and more modest target. Always choose Practices which are achieveable and sustainable - and plan for the occasional “big challenge”.
- Optional: Why not plan a “big” Practice for sometime next month? For example - an ambitious walk, a big group meal, a week offline, and so forth. Put it on your calendar.
Reflect
- What changes - if any - have you noticed in the past three weeks?
- Has your understanding of any of the Practices deepened or changed?
- Continue thinking about the links between the three Practices
Test
(as ever, if memory is a particular problem for you, choose a way of testing out that works better)
- Reread the chapters, and collect quotes and keywords about the Landweird.
- Without looking at your notes, write down the purpose(s) of each Practice as you are understanding it.
- Without looking at your notes, write down as many keywords as you can remember for the Sun, Moon and Star.
- Extension: Write some observations on the way the Practices support one another.
